blg2k6: The Blogs Must Be Crazy
OK, this just might be the craziest thing I"ve ever done maybe.
Nonetheless ...
Welcome to Blogathon 2006, or, for practical purposes early and exhaustion purposes 18 hours from now, we're referring to it as blg2k6, which actually may be harder to remember come 3 a.m. than the actual spelling.
I'm your host, Jimmy Patterson, and you're watching Sticky Doorknobs.
And, I gotta tell ya ... I know you must be worried I'll actually be able to pull this off. Not to worry, folks, not to worry. When my endurance levels start to wane later on today, I have hired Floyd Landis' personal performance enhancement director, so I'll be fine. I can't speak for my wife Karen, but I'll be good.
I am currently drinking my first of what is expected to be many cups of coffee. I tried to hire Juan Valdez to come stand next to me for 24 hours to keep me awake, but he refuses to do personal appearances without the donkey. And the donkey creeps me out.
Later on today, I'll attempt to write an 18-chapter short story called "The Lost Yankee." I hope it goes well. I really do. And if it gets a little slim creativity-wise about 2 in the morning, I have actually hired John Grisham to come in to be a relief writer early tomorrow morning.
And perhaps most impressively, you should know before we get much further into this thing, I believe that of the 762 bloggers who have signed on to do today's Blogathon, I am the only one who will actually blog for 24 hours underwater while holding my breath.
So enjoy, play along, leave a comment in the comment area, pledge to Fair Havens and have a good time. But above all, if you see me nodding off sometime after midnight tonight, just give me a little nudge if you don't mind.
Back in a few minutes to lay out the rules for the trivia contests.
Good morning :) I will be your Monitor for the thon... good luck :)
