The EZ Rider

I really would like to apologize to those whose perception is that I made fun of the EZ Rider buses or riders in a story and video on MyWestTexas.com. In advance, I perceived a light-hearted feature story and accompanying video and meant no ill to either the service or especially to those who utilize it. If my written or spoken words were perceived as being used to disparage anything about EZ Rider, I apologize for that. In fact, about halfway through the week my thought was ... there's really nothing going on here worth reporting about: this is a safe, good, clean, timely service.

I couldn't ride the bus every day. It takes discipline, promptness and more than anything the ability to make it in life without the luxury of a personal vehicle. Those who make it work for themselves I really do applaud.

There frankly isn't anything wrong with EZ Rider other than some loud window noise and a broken door on one of the buses I rode, both of which certainly seem fixable. They are good at what they do. On time. Comfortable. Prompt. And they drive within traffic regulations. I commend the job the city and the transportation volunteers have done. I know several people on that board and they are good people.

Certain aspects of this story/video struck some sort of a nerve and I hope to make it clear that my intent was not to make fun of anyone. We have taken the video down because again, our intent was not to cast anyone or anything in a negative light.

My apologies once again.

Comments

I'm not offended, except for the fact I tried to watch it and it wouldn't load.

You're too good, Jimmy!

I hope the serenity prayer helps you after hitting this particular pothole.

Jimmy, I have no idea what was in that video but I do know you. You're one of the most considerate, pleasant, and gracious people I've ever met. I can't imagine anyone who knows the tiniest bit about you taking offense to anything you might do or say.

Jimmy:

I didn't get to see the feature either. Sorry that it appears you received some backlash for it. Whether there was any justification for the reaction or not, you certainly handled the matter in a class act way. Good job!

Janie, Jim and Justin ... thanks for your kind notes, I appreciate your good words.
