I woke up today with one thought, a few hours after our local cable provider, or who knows maybe it was the local Fox outlet, dropped the audio from "American Idol" for a full 15 minutes last night: And so my thought this morning was this: If the biggest thing in life I have to complain about is a missed segment of audio on "American Idol" then I must have a pretty good life. Well, sure yeah, but ...
... it's actually NOT the biggest thing I have to complain about: The biggest thing I have to complain about is this, and maybe I'm the first person to give voice to this concern, and then again maybe I'm not. But I'm more than just a little miffed that all the Super Bowl could do for us this year for halftime entertainment is Tom Petty. TOM PETTY? Is he even still alive? TOM PETTY? Doesn't it make some sort of weird sense to you that Firestone is the sponsor of the halftime show? The Firestone Tired Rock and Roll Halftime Show Featuring Tom Petty. I mean c'mon? Who can we look forward to next year? The Alan Parsons Project? Bread? Hamilton, Joe, Frank and Reynolds? If one of those doesn't say yes, we may be faced with having to cover our ears during Mariah Carey again. And if she says no ... we could actually get stuck with Tom Petty two years in a row, I fear.
But back to "American Idol." I'd like to introduce to you our new "American Idol" correspondent. A friend, someone I actually like to argue politics with, and a fan of "AI": Teri Carter. Teri doesn't actually live in Midland-Odessa, but she wishes she did. She lives in Austin with a bunch of liberals and Democrats (and somehow, she manages not only to live but to thrive). Anyway, you are likely familiar with Teri because she is heard every Friday morning at 6:40 on The Morning Drive (more commonly known as The Robert Hallmark Show.) You have to get up pretty in the morning to fool Teri, or at least to listen to her, but now, with the advent of Al Gore's Internet, you can read her online whenever you want, regardless the hour. With today's debut of Teri's column "Idol Thoughts," I am proud to report that Sticky Doorknobs becomes the very first blog in the entire world with a correspondent.
(Actually, I'm not 100 percent sure about being the first blog to have a correspondent ever, anywhere, but Ill look into it.)
Without further adieu, here's Teri:

What's up with the Simon love-fest this year? Aren't we all supposed to hate Simon? I guess if it gets you to Hollywood, then work it girl. Samantha gets the golden ticket and her sister gets to sit in Simon's lap.Blake-the perpetual auditioner: Go. Home. Now.To Blake's mother: Get. A. Life. But, since he is only 22 and has 6 years of AI eligibility, we probably haven't seen the last of him. Or his mom.The fan/fingernail man: Eyeore called. He wants his personality back.David-the 16 year old with vocal paralysis issues was better than I thought he'd be. Jonas Brothers alert here!I liked Carly and hope her visa is in order this time around.Out of the first three, Texiana (is that her real name?), Perrie and Michael.Perrie has the best story, but Michael has the best voice. The Mariah wanna-be was oh so bad.More fun tonight!Listen to Terri Carter on Fridays at 6:40 a.m. during the Morning Drive on NewsTalk 550 KCRS.
Thanks Teri. And, a slight modification on the assertion that Sticky Doorknobs is the first ever blog in the world featuring a correspondent for those of you fuss over little things like accuracy. We're actually the first ever blog name Sticky Doorknobs with an American Idol Correspondent named Teri Carter who is on the radio in Midland-Odessa with Robert Hallmark. We think.
WE ROCK!
actually, the audio was a Grande problem last night, not a FOX problem. I too hated missing 15 minutes of the show! Hopefully, Grande has it fixed!

"The Alan Parsons Project? Bread? Hamilton, Joe, Frank and Reynolds?" That's Hamilton, JOE FRANK and Reynolds, kind sir. Not like Joe & Frank. Hmmmm . . . baby ima want you? Hopefully we'll never have to go through that again.

Thanks for clearing it up, Laura. Glad to know it wasn't the Foxes that messed me night up ")
And Dennis ... I don't know if I'd go spouting that kinda knowledge around just everywhere.
